Chief (Dr.) David Isiavwe
Executive Director of Operations and Technology at NOVA Bank, President of the Information Security Society of Africa (ISSAN), and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, with nearly three decades in banking and academia.
Dr. David Isiavwe is the Executive Director of Operations and Technology at NOVA Bank, where he drives the bank's strategic initiatives in operations and technology. Before NOVA Bank, he was General Manager and Head of Operations & Technology at Ecobank Nigeria.
He currently serves as President and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Information Security Society of Africa, Nigeria (ISSAN), a not-for-profit dedicated to securing Africa's cyberspace. His earlier roles include General Manager at Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, Chief Operating Officer at UBA Africa, and Deputy Managing Director and COO of Banque Internationale du Burkina (BIB) in Burkina Faso.
With nearly 33 years in banking and academia, he began his career as a lecturer in Accounting at the University of Benin in 1989 before joining Citibank in 1992, where he rose to Vice President, based in Cape Town, South Africa.
He holds a Ph.D. in Accounting and specialises in digital transformation, corporate governance, business transformation, and information systems security. He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (FCA), an Honorary Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (HCIB), a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), and certified in the Governance of Enterprise IT (CGEIT) by ISACA, USA. He has also attended executive courses at Harvard, Boston University, the University of Oxford's Saïd Business School, and MIT.
